New Poll: Do You Click on Internet Ads?

The filing for Chapter 11 by Philadelphia Newspapers LLC, publisher of The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Daily News is another indicator of the morbidity of the news print (and print in general?) industry. I've posted before on why I believe newspapers are so important, and there remains a serious question as to whether they can survive on the internet where, to this point, most online editions have been available for free.

Because of my own behavior, I've always assumed that the ad model doesn't work online, but I'd like your input. Please vote in my poll and let me know

I'd also be interested in comments as to why you do or don't click on ads or if you have had any experience purchasing through one of those ads.

The poll closes in one week.

I don't click on the ads very often, unless I see something that really catches my attention. Big flashy ads give me a headache, so I steer clear of them, but I do click on text ads and some banner ads. If it looks like something I would be interested in, I click. And I've never purchased anything from clicking on an ad. I'm cheap, er I mean poor. :)

Hi Saph,

I almost said never, but then I remembered I have clicked on Amazon ads on other blogs. That's cuz I know Amazon and I know they aren't going to spam me. So I really handle ads online the same way I do everywhere. I block out 90% and only pay attention when it's someplace I already shop like Boscov's and Macy's.
