Twitterature?

OMG, according to this article in P&W, Penguin is going to release a volume "that pares classic books down to a series of tweet-sized chunks." I'd love to know what readers think about this.

For more on my thoughts you can read my earlier post.

Dear Lord give me strength. Although I will confess to being curious to know how many tweets it would take to conquer War and Peace or Moby Dick. Maybe with Hemingway's style? . . . ah, nope.

For Whom the Bell Tolls: American volunteers in Spanish Civil War. Falls in love. Girl has very short hair. They bomb a bridge. Guy gets hurt. Tells girl to leave him behind.

That's all there is to it, right?

And Moby Dick is about a sea captain chasing a big white whale.

Know the story, know the book.
